The internal parts are really clean. This is the magic of synthetic motor oil. I use Mobil 1 0w40.

I replaced a total of six shims. This brought all of them back to the original factory specs. My bike has 48,000 miles.

When the project was completed I had one hand on the starter button and the other on the kill switch. I new if I made a mistake this was goiing to cost a lot of $$$ to fix it.

I turned the key on, held my breath and hit the starter. She immediatley fired up, no metal to metal sounds. It idled really smooth. I put my helmet on and took off slow at first down the street. She ran just fine.
Next I opened her up and wound the RPM's up in 1st three gears. It runs a lot quieter. I'm going to adjust the right side next week.
"It probably gained 20 more hp at the rear wheel by bringing the valves back to spec." LIE LIE LIE LIE
